Light polarisation
Polarising direction of a light wave
Natural light consists of electrical and magnetic waves. A light
wave "radiates" in one direction, known as the polarising
direction. The light wave is simultaneously overlaid by many
other light waves which all oscillate in the same axis. The
alignment is such that the other light waves seem vertical to the
propagation direction when viewed in the wave axis.
